Brides and Bellinis Event is coming....

Are you one of the lucky brides invited to this wonderful new creative event? You ARE if you are reading this blog. This event is an exclusive invitation to those brides who haven't quite found all of their vendors. I hope you will make some time to come to this event on Sunday, June 28th from 2:00-5:0opm. The event will take place at Gainesville Golf and Country Club. You will need to register in advance on www.theunforgettableevent.com. The cost is only $25 per person.

This is a new way to look at how to interact with potential vendors on a smaller scale, more intimate, and not being rushed. Each vendor will have a small table but then there will be plenty of space for you to go to the side and talk more privately. You will have more one on one time with the vendors, in a more relaxed and personal setting.

Please blog or email me if you are planning to come so I know too. I love to know things.

To Eat or Not to Eat: That is the Question!

It’s your wedding day and with all the nerves shooting through your system, you don’t feel like eating! Even though you may want to skip meals and fit perfectly into your wedding gown, don’t do it! According to Heidi Skolnick, a nutritionist and consultant to the School of American Ballet, “It isn’t a good idea to go into the big day feeling depleted. There’s so much going on and so much stress, you want to make sure your physiology is working for you.” Think of food as the “energy” that will guide and help you through your day. Stay clear from spicy, high fat or sugar content, suggest Skolnick. Skolnick recommends simple food s that will digest easily. Try oatmeal, fruit, sliced turkey sandwich, soup, grilled chicken, fish, salad and wraps. Stick with meals you know and love. Don’t try any foods for the first time on your wedding day, just in case. Drink plenty of water and begin this before the day!

Things that could go wrong...will it be you?

As planners it is always hard to hear when things go wrong at events you weren’t involved in. Sometimes they are funny are a great to laugh at. Other times it is sad to hear what a couple might have gone through. This is when I wish I could plan every event and never charge. Simply because I love what I do but I just hate to hear what people have walked through when they don’t have a planner or a day of coordinator. Let me just share a few common things that happen. Now note that there is no way I could list all of the things I have heard over the years.
· Spray Tan day before the wedding. (Didn’t do a trial run)
· Didn’t do a makeup trial
· Didn’t do a hair trial
· Forgot to get the dress altered
· Forgot to wear waterproof mascara
· Forgot under garments
· Forgot black socks
· Didn’t remember to order linens for certain tables at the reception
· Forgot to purchase the sand for the sand ceremony
· Forgot to pick up my wedding dress

The list can go on and on. I have heard it all from articles, to movies and even real stories of people that I meet in passing. Some bring me to laughter and other stories to tears. So before you start on your next event you need to realize just how important a planner or day of coordinator is to your event. It can be from your event going off flawlessly or it falling apart. Which will yours be? I hope the first one.

One of our most fun couples

Cheers to Ryan and Jennifer!!!!!!!!!
What a truly fun couple. I have had many couples who have laughter but they are always laughing. They are 'high' on life in a good way. They first of all have a love for animals so I was very surprised when we didn't have any of them joining us on their wedding day. As you will see throughout the day we had some really great times. I will kind of jump around because certain ones just really speak to me.

Ryan had these group of guys that always hung out so a joke they did in the middle of the reception was to unveil their matching T-shirts to everyone. It was for a great laugh. Then they started in with the pictures and some other things that you just had to be there for.

This is just one of the many beautiful decorations, linens and floral Unforgettable Events. Jennifer had a passion to find unusual unique flowers and to use them well. Between her and Dan you couldn't give them enough to choose from.

What a SUPER COOL wall?!? I want my picture in front of that wall. Way to go, Monica and Jacob from IMJ Photography for making these pictures come alive.

First glimpse of Jennifer and Ryan after they were married. What joy they had. Love was in the Air...

This just shows you their joy and laughter without saying a word.

So if it wasn't enough that Jennifer was so happy so was her Dad. He liked to give her a hard time and play some mild jokes. Mr. Baker was a lot of fun.

Now Jenn don't you dare! We haven't gone down the aisle to trash the dress yet would not be a good idea.

Stunning is all that I can say.

A`vie in Action doing one of the many things we do on a wedding day.

Look closely and see the unusual flowers. Aren't they super neat? Unforgettable Events were able to make all Jennifer's wishes come true. She would say one thing and then Dan would make it happen. I just love it when it happens this way. Unforgettable Events can make anything happen. Just talk and Dan will do the rest.
As I conclude this event I was so pleased to have the privilege of working with Monica and Jacob from IMJ Photography. They are so easy going and listen to what the bride and groom really want to have photographed that day. Then adding their very own fun flair to make it all come together.

Day After...

This was taken on the day after the wedding. Doesn't this look like so much fun? I wish I did this on my wedding. But back then they didn't do those things.

Congratulations Jennifer and Ryan. We wish you the very best. May you always find joy in everything you do together. Many Blessings to you.

Rustic Outdoor Weddings

We are planning so many outdoor weddings and as we are putting them together we have had our clients inspired by the knot and Martha Stewart with their publications of their pictures. Instead of doing the round tables we are seeing that our clients are going with long banquet tables or the large square tables. They are more family oriented and fun. You can also continue with the family idea with family style food presentation.
So mix up your tables at your reception or change it all together and go for the rectangles. You will be different and your guests will appreciate it.

Jennifer and Greg's Wedding

On April 18th, I was fortunate to work with a wonderful couple and their families for their wedding at the Paramount Plaza. Unlike most weddings that I plan, I actually didn't meet the bride until 3 days before her wedding! She lives in West Palm Beach, so instead I worked with her amazing parents, Glenn and Pat, to make all their wishes for their little girl come true!

Jennifer and Greg truly have a cool story- the first time they dated each other, it was only a few months before they broke up and went their separate ways. As fate would have it, they were brought back together 10 years later and have been inseparable ever since! I guess it's true that if you let something go and it comes back to you- it really is meant to be!

Their ceremony was held outside at the Paramount Plaza and was officiated by Rev. Bert Ayers. Although we encountered a little wind, Jennifer and Greg shared in a beautiful unity candle ceremony and even took their first communion as husband and wife. This act incorporated their religious backgrounds in a very meaningful way.

Their wedding party consisted of Jennifer's two sisters, Greg's brother, and other close friends. Lovely ladies!

Jennifer's nephew was the ring bearer- barely! He fought a cold and was very cranky all day- up until the ceremony began and then he blew us all away! Later in the night, we was able to let loose on the dance floor and have lots of fun!

After the ceremony, guests walked right upstairs to the Paramount Plaza Bivens Ballroom where the cocktail hour and reception were held.

The Paramount staff was great and the food was delicious! Wayne Perry from Wayne's World Entertainment got the party started- and kept it going all night!

We definitely had fun with the garter and bouquet tosses- and everyone was shocked at who caught the garter- especially him!

Joan Prange from Prange's Florist did an incredible job with the flowers- matching the girls blue dresses and also incorporating some accents of peach and yellow. I heard compliments all night about how lovely the flowers were!

And of course, the gourmet cake by Ms. Debbie's Sugar Art was to die for! Not only was it delicious, but it looked unlike any wedding cake I've ever seen- so unique!!

After much toasting and celebrating between the two families, the night came to a close. Everyone gathered to make Jennifer and Greg's farewell extra special- with bubbles! I always love how these pictures turn out.

A big thank you to Scott Pictures for capturing all the beautiful images of the day! Congratulations again to Jennifer and Greg and their families- and best wishes to you all!
