Dwight's Fight Foundation

We have been so blessed to to be able to be involved with some AWESOME Non-Profit Events in the past few weeks.

Dwight Johnson is a beloved father, friend, coworker, and member of the Gainesville community, suffering from ALS disease. Dwight’s Fight is the collaborative efforts of his loved ones to raise awareness of ALS disease, as well as raise money for the Johnson family as they journey with Dwight and his illness.

We put together with the help of 100's of volunteers, Sponsors and a GREAT Committee a Sponsorship Dinner and Golf Tournament. The Sponsorship Dinner was held at Plantation Hall at Haile on Sunday, June 28th, 2008 with Chef Brothers taking care of our meal. They did a great job with doing exactly what we requested. Where we were able to have Sister Hazel do a 'Unplugged' Acoustic Session with us. They were DYNAMITE.

In addition, we had a Golf Tournament held on Monday, June 30, 2008 at Haile Golf and Country Club. This is one of Dwight's favorite sports so what better way to raise funds for ALS and Dwight's Fight. We had some great golfers and the foursomes were terrific to see. The trophies that these gentlemen and ladies received were amazing. To wrap up these events we finished we relocated to Gator's Dockside. (All familiar with our committee, where we ate lunches there weekly.) Where we celebrated by announcing the winners, having a Silent and LIVE Auction. The owner of Gator's Dockside, Jerry, put together a fantastic spread of food for all in attendance. The food was out of this world.
