Laure and Rob's Perfect Romance

Rob and Laure could not have picked a better day to have their wedding at Haile Plantation Golf and Country Club! At first, we were unsure about the weather, but February 21st 2009 ended up being one of the most beautiful days of the year!

Jamie Smith from Couture Wedding (also an old friend of Rob's) did an amazing job of capturing the beauty and love between Rob and Laure as their faces were illuminated with love and excitement.

The dinner tables were dressed with beautiful, chic centerpieces by Crevasses Regency Florist. After enjoying the delicious food by Haile Golf and Country Club catering, Rob and Laure took center stage to cut their cakes. Julie Connolly designed an elegant gold and white wedding cake, paired with a humorous golf-inspired groom’s cake- perfect since we were right on the golf course!

Solutions Entertainment kept the party lively with great music and dancing.

When the night was ending, Rob and Laure exited through an archway of sparklers to be met by AP Limousine and swept away to start their life as a married couple! Congrats and best wishes, you two!

Small can equal luxurious

Influenced by the economy, everyone is looking for ways to cut back. Your wedding day is one of the most memorable days of your life. Why cut back on the luxurious features that make a wedding so special? Instead having a small wedding is a great way to cut back cost and not glam. This allows for extravagant favors, a classy destination, and a chance to intimately experience this day with loved ones. A unique and lavish event, especially at a destination, will make your day the day to remember. Consider a destination wedding at your favorite vacation spot, or a cruise.

Dara and Nadav's Rustic Reception

On the 15th of February, Dara and Nadav exchanged their vows during a private ceremony at O’Leno State Park surrounded by their closest family and friends.

After the ceremony, guests traveled to the scenic Austin Cary Memorial Forest Conference Center to celebrate the harmonious couple. The reception’s eco-friendly theme was decorated by The Flower Shop with drift wood, orchids, and pine cones under twinkling lights creating quite the charming atmosphere.

Rob Witzel Photography captured the celebration as Dara and Nadav were hoisted into the air on chairs in true Jewish tradition.

Ibti Hijazi Catering and Ms. Debbie’s Sugar Art provided a delicious kosher meal for all the guests.

Lugo Entertainment from Orlando provided the musical entertainment that kept guests dancing throughout the night.

Overall the reception was a beautiful celebration full of tradition, love, and music. All the girls at A’vie wish true happiness to Dara and Nadav as they start their journey together.

Modern Days or Mother's Ways?

Many of the fashion choices made by the generations before us have found their way back to the center aisle. Groomsmen, for example, are sporting top hats and tuxedo tails. Brides are choosing to wear less revealing dresses- covering up with lace, puffy sleeves, and gloves. In fact, designer Carmela Sutera’s 2007 winter bridal collection (seen below) consisted of collared gowns with long, puffy sleeves, and head-to-toe lace. For those brides looking to incorporate only a few classic fashionable items, try pearls or lacey veils.

Delicious Ways to Incorporate Color

Most couples integrate their wedding colors in traditional fashions: bridesmaids’ dresses, linens, flowers, invitations, etc. But have you ever considered including those colors at the bar? Here a few special cocktails and non-alcoholic drinks that provide a pop of color and are perfect for the spring season:

Pink

Pink grapefruit juice, pureed raspberries, and vodka served in a sugar-rimmed glass. For the non-alcoholic version, substitute pink grapefruit soda garnished with frozen grapefruit. Also, “Shirley Temples” are always popular for guests of all ages. Simply mix grenadine and Sprite and garnish with a cherry.

Blue

Vodka, Blue Curacao, and lemonade make what’s called a “Blue Lagoon.”

Orange

Vodka, dark rum, and three times orange juice makes what is named “Brass Money Cocktail”

Yellow

Classic Lemonade is great for those hot months and is appropriate for all ages. It is an inexpensive and popular way to incorporate color. You can try flavored lemonade (i.e. raspberry, strawberry, etc.) or Pink Lemonade to integrate different colors.

Lime Green

Mountain Dew would work great for the kids during the reception- just be wary of all of that caffeine!
