House Of Hope Breakfast

Please consider participating in the 11th Annual House of Hope Prayer Breakfast. This years event is on Thursday, October 1^st, beginning at 7:27 a.m at the Hilton. The Prayer Breakfast is House of Hope’s primary fundraiser each year to cover all of the day to day operational expenses of the House of Hope. They are a Christian transitional ministry that helps ex-prisoners to receive guidance and teach them viable job skills.

House of Hope is a Not-for-Profit 501 (c) (3) Corporation that since 1995 has been assisting ex-offenders in becoming productive, law abiding citizens. By providing the guidance ex-prisoners need to turn their lives around, they are less likely to return to their former habits and ways. The House of Hope gives them encouragement, teaches them life skills, understanding, love and the word of God. Success proves these ingredients will help them on the road to a new life and salvation.

We hope you will join us and make this event an outstanding event for the men of House of Hope.

Solution's Bridal Show Winner of the Wedding Day Package

We had the privilege of planning the Florida Bridal Expo aka Solution's Bridal Expo on September 13, 2009 at UF Hilton. Along with planning the show we love to put some twists in the show and giveaway a lot to lucky brides. One of four GRAND Prizes was a WEDDING DAY Package. Hi Angela,

I just wanted to let you know what an amazing time I had at the Solutions Bridal Expo a couple of weekends ago. The expo was fantastic! The show was extremely well-organized, the staff was pleasant and eager to help, and there were SO many vendors, which made me realize how many options are available to couples planning their wedding right here in Gainesville. Having VIP tickets was quite helpful because I had about an hour to talk to some of the vendors without the crowd. The give-aways at the end were awesome, and the last thing I expected was to win something (I haven't ever won anything like that in my life), but I did and I couldn't be happier!!! It was wonderful to have my mom there with me and share in such an exciting event. Thank you and Solutions and all the amazing vendors that helped make this special event come together. I will certainly make sure that my friends who are getting married don't miss out on this experience!

From the eyes of a new intern

Rebekah has been a wonderful intern for us at A`vie from the moment she came in for her interview. Read a few words from her as she experiences her first events with us.

"My first day as an intern for A'vie, I worked a wedding. I was helping at the ceremony organizing the bridal party and do all that I could to keep the weddings as traditional as possible. The bride and groom did not want to see each other before the weddings and so I was put on what I call “ Bride Watch 2009”. The ceremony was lovely! Everything fell into line as it was suppose to.

Before the ceremony was over, I ran over to the reception venue. My breath was taken away when I saw how beautiful the venue was. The decorating was great! As guests arrived, I would greet them and direct them to where the cocktails were being served. After the bride and groom arrived, the reception was in full swing. It was absolutely great! The food that was served was amazing! To add to the food, the caterers were so friendly! The band was outstanding! They really kept the guests entertained. The whole wedding was a great learning experience and I know the bride and groom were very pleased with A'vie's services!"

Happy 50th Anniversary to the Carlsons

Carlson's 50th Anniversary
We had the privilege of coordinating The Carlson 50th Anniversary party on August 8. It was a very special and unique event for many reasons. For starters, our client (daughter of the couple) lives in North Carolina and we did not get to meet her until one day before the event! A’vie was able to recommend vendors and her final choices included Plantation Hall at Haile for the venue, Celebrations Catering, The Plant Shoppe, Ms. Debbie’s Sugar Art, Eric Redmond as the pianist, Paul from Footstone Photography, and Professional Valet Parking Systems. As guests arrived cocktails and appetizers were served while the wedding video played on the projector screen. Yes, there was video footage of the wedding from 50 years ago! During dinner a slideshow with music played for guests- it was a huge hit! Then came the surprise…Father Tim was there to renew their wedding vows! A bouquet was brought to Mrs. Carlson and she joined her husband in front of all 85 guests to recite the vows they said 50 years ago. Then the couple danced to “Wind Beneath My Wings” which was beautifully performed by Eric. To follow suit of a wedding, the couple ceremoniously cut the beautiful three tiered cake. To honor this special couple and their huge accomplishment, the microphone was passed around to almost a dozen guests to give a toast! The beautiful flower arrangements were given by our client as gifts to several guests and vendors as well! It was a pleasure to be a part of this fantastic celebration of love and family.
