My Family...

It isn't often that I talk about my family but that is going to change. I can't tell you how involved I am in with my family. I love doing things with them all. We try to do movie nights, boating, fishing, and a lot of church activities together. We are always open to finding more things to do to create memories. Below are some pictures we did of our family with Rob Witzel Photography. We had so much fun.

Just a little bit of 'food fight' came out. The kids were throwing popcorn on us.

A little birdie told me...When to Hire a Wedding Consultant

As I have been off for a few days I have had time to look through magazines after magazines and catch up on stacks of reading that I have wanted to do. As I was skimming through one of them this small 'pink' article caught my eye.
Now before I state this you all know what we do but sometimes people wonder why should I hire a Wedding planner/consultant/coordinator. They say things such as, 'I can do that'; 'I have planned a party before'; and 'I can do this'. Then you get going and you realize that you are in over your head. This article might be for you.
"If your work schedule is just too demanding, you may want to get some planning help from a pro. 'Wedding planners know what's available out there fore all kinds of events, and we can save you both time and money by doing the legwork, getting the best vendors and avoiding potential mistakes,'" says Sarah Lusardi of NY Engagements, LLC.

NOW in my terms some things that we can make happen for you that you just don't have the time to even think about until it is too late.
  • Wedding Day schedules for family, wedding party, and vendors
  • Having back up plans for the weather
  • Being able to check in all the vendors and make sure that everything is in place for you.
  • Set up time to do a final consultation so you know that we know that everything is taken care of.
  • Delegate things to the right vendors.
  • Oversee the BIG and SMALL details of your day.
  • Keep things moving without being pushy or bossy.
  • Be creative when need to be, especially when it counts.
  • We expect the unexpected.
  • We love to do the research to make your wedding very unique to you.
  • We even love to do Power Meetings to make it happen within your time schedule.

So when considering if you need some help from a personal on your wedding day you might think of a few things first.

Wedding Invitation Etiquette

Addressing your wedding invitations can be confusing. Here are a few tips to make it easier.

Abbreviations

Traditionally, nothing was abbreviated on invitations, recently title abbreviations have become all right to use. It’s up to you how traditional you want to go, or if you would rather save time. Also, writing out street numbers and names is elegant, but time consuming and not necessary and the US Post Office prefer abbreviations.

Hand Addressing

Traditionally invitations should be hand written in black ink. This will take a lot of time and you will want to get bridesmaids with good handwriting to help. If you are going to make them computer-generated make sure to use a calligraphy font.

The Return Address

This should be written on the back flap of the envelope and hand-written if possible. It should be addressed to the person hosting the event, not the bride’s address. You do not need to put names on the return address, just the address itself.

Extra Tips

DO NOT make your guests guess who is invited, make it clear. Pay attention to the details and recheck name spellings before sending out invites.

Sarah and Shamar's Wedding Day at Sweetwater Branch

Sarah and Shamar's wedding was absolutely beautiful. They are both so easy-going and sweet. Sarah looked like an old Hollywood movie star with her hair down in glamorous, loose pin curls that she did herself and Shamar's face when he first saw her was priceless. Joan Prange did her flowers and the bouquet was exactly what Sarah wanted and more. The weather was perfect and working with Sweetwater made our job easy. The reception was so much fun with Mike Collins as the DJ. Shamar's mom and sister even did a hilarious choreographed dance to "Wipeout"! Check out some of the pictures from Mary Beth Tyson, they're amazing.

This was their first time meeting each other before the ceremony.

Cool beyond words...

So Amazing!!!!

Check back for more pictures from their wedding.

Celebrate Adoption at Haile Golf and Country Club

For the past two years we have been given the opportunity to plan Celebrate Adoption for Children's Home Society. Both of these years we were able to have it at Haile Golf and Country Club in the Haile Village Center. It is such an exciting event were we are able to bring awareness of adoption to others. Those who come range from those who have adopted, those who are adopted, those up for adoption and those who want more information about adoption. It is a big range of people. I am so blessed to share in having two adopted children so working with Children's Home Society on this event is even more dear to me. To document this event and to give you a small glimpse of what we had going on Photography 35 (Gregg and Angel) was there to bring it all to life. We have put a few just to give you a glimpse of the activities that we had please check out their blog for more. (http://blog.photography35.com/)

Food Fight Pictures

Yes, we just finished doing some family pictures with my family (4 kids) on Sunday. Rob and Marian Witzel were up for the challenge. As Rob and I discussed what we were thinking about doing. I was discussing with him how much we love going to the movies and watching a movie together eating in front of the T.V. at least once or twice a month. With that Rob ran with that idea and came up with a 'food fight' with popcorn. Which the kids absolutely loved it. The blot thickens when the kids only could have the food and we weren't able to get back at them. :) I will put up some pictures once they are ready.

Jessica and Rob at The Florida Museum of Natural History

Jessica and Rob tied the knot on Saturday November 8th at the Baughman Center and then made their way over to the Florida Museum of Natural History on awesome scooters we were able to rent for them (Its a new company in town called "Yellow Bike") After months of plans and a few phone calls here and there, I finally got to meet Jessica and Rob TWO days before their wedding!! I have to say they were probably the two most laid back people I have EVER met in my entire life. I was so relieved when I finally met them and they were really as stress free about their wedding as Jessica had told me on the phone (I have to admit - I was pretty nervous about pulling off a wedding reception when I hadnt event met the bride or the groom). This wedding was all about the orange and blue - we even had a projector screen where we watched the Gators over power the Commodores! The couple displayed their school spirit with orange and blue in the bride's bouquetprovided by Crevasses, their orange and blue assorted cupcakes form Publix, and the linens from Celebrations who also catered the reception. The bride and groom were introduced to the Gator fight song and then danced and partied the night away with the help of David from Wellspring Entertainment and of course the Celebrations bar tenders. Jimmy Ho got some awesome shots of them as you can see.

One of my favorite parts of the night was watching the brides dad go crazy when the DJ played "Jump Around" - I have never had a father of the bride with so much energy and enthusiasm!! He gets my award for "Best father of the Bride". I had such a great time getting to know Jessica and Rob that day and I wish them the best of luck in thier marriage. I hope their wedding was everything they dreamed it would be! Last but not least...... GO GATORS!

What do you do on a Friday Night???

Well it is rare in my life that I get a FREE Friday night. Especially the opportunity to spend it with my wonderful husband. As you all know I am a very social person which he isn't. I love people the more the merrier. So as my wish he allowed me to indulge and go to several events that I wanted to go.
We got to go to Cafe C Ribbon Cutting. WOW!!! What a cool color on a building. We were able to see so many people there. From past clients, future clients of theirs to all of our wonderful vendors. So you know I was in heaven when I saw all those people. Leah and her team out did themselves with a ton a food, drinks, and music. If you are ever down in the NW 8th Avenue section of town you MUST stop in at Cafe C and have lunch. I especially love the spicy peanut noodle salad. My new favorite.
Then my husband even agreed to go to Sweetwater Branch Inn's 9th Annual Bash. This was for their employees and families but vendors. They had food from around the world so we were able to enjoy all types of food while having fun. We were able to see so many of the same vendors from the event before and more.
So if that isn't enough...yes, I was still ready to keep going. I convinced him to even go see a movie. Role Models. It was a good laugh. Which is a must need at the end of any week.

Martina and Ryan's Wedding at Plantation Hall at Haile

....Martina and Ryan's wedding was so much fun. I just love it when we get the opportunity to work with a fun couple. It makes our job even easier. We were able to do so many unique items for them from decorating, signature drinks and the coolest colors ever. We had the privilege to work with K-Gallery as our photographer...if you know them you know we had a lot of fun. Even when they took our whole wedding party to Sharab's. I am so glad that we were able to get them out of there. I thought I might have lost them. They were having way too much fun. Even before the wedding and reception began.

The pictures are yet to come but wait until you see the knock out bouquet that Betsy from The Plant Shoppe did. She rocked the bouquet. The bride received chills when she saw it for the first time. I just love it when everything comes together. Makes it worth every meeting and every phone call and all the emails.

It didn't stop there we still have great food from Celebrations and music from Jay's Entertainment to wrap the evening up. What a day of Celebration, Fun, Fantastic Weather and a Great Bride and Groom.

To all that came and were there...wait to see the pictures. They are going to be amazing from K-Gallery. ~Angela
