Once you have chosen your perfect venue and have a price per person, if you feel that the price is just plain too high, negotiate. Brides often feel awkward or tacky negotiating prices, but you have to remember that the venue wants your business just as much as you want to use them as your venue. There is nothing wrong with nicely asking if the price given is the best they can do. If you are flexible about the day of the week or time of your reception, this could definitely help lower the cost. Let the venue representative know what your budget is and ask if there is anything else they can do for you. Even if they can’t drop the price, they may throw in some extras, like trays of cookies or an upgrade to top-shelf liquor. Don’t be shy, venues expect you to negotiate!
