Wedding Rituals you might consider for your wedding ceremony Part IX

So I told you that I had more to share with you on Wedding Rituals....well I do. I did this several time last year. It was the Mexican Rope Ceremony. I had the sweetest couples do this as part of their ceremony. As the parents sat back and watched they were so pleased to see them bring in their heritage.

What is it?
  • Done as part of the ceremony to symbolize unity.
  • Large loop of rosary beads or lasso cord. Something you can do is to make it out of entwined orange blossoms. This symbolize fertility and happiness.
  • The double rosary lasso may also be given by one set of the parents and may be blessed with holy water three times in honor of the trinity.

How is it done?
  • Someone special to the bride and groom places the lasso around the shoulders of the bride and groom. This can be done by the mom's too. Which is extra sweet when they don't walk there children
  • First putting it on the groom's shoulder's first. In a figure eight shape around the necks of the couple.
  • The lasso may also be tied around their wrists too.
  • The couple wears the lasso throughout the remainder of the service.
  • At the end of the ceremony the lasso is removed by either the couple which placed the lasso on the couple or the priest.
  • The lasso is given to the bride as a momento of her becoming the mistress of the groom's heart and home.

Symbolize:

  • Their love which should bind the couple together everyday as they equally share the responsibility of marriage for the rest of their lives.
