What is it?
- A TWIST on the Unity candle ceremony to be quiet honest
- A great way to represent families coming together when children are involved
How is it done?
- The mom's can bring down the sand or you can have it placed up there before the ceremony gets started.
- This can be done with just the bride and groom or you can have children that are from a previous marriage join in.
- Doing it when children are involved is especially good so each of them are represented as a color when they are poured into the jar.
- Each person represented choose a color that is their favorite or that blends with the wedding colors. This is more up the bride's decision...at least I would say that. :)
- After the wedding vows and ring ceremony you then combine the sand from different containers into one container.
- Once everyone has poured their sand (layering affect...you pour your sand several time throughout the process) then you need to put a lid after it is all done. This way it is sealed.
- Place it on your mantel, living room or somewhere for all to see to remind you what commitment you have made to each other.
- You can also put in other elements into the container if you wish such as rocks to represent Christ or you can also use white sand to represent him as well. You can also use gravel or coarse salt as an option to this ceremony.
Remember that this will be something you will be looking at for years to come that represents the unity of the coming together of a woman and a man plus the possibility of families too. Be unique and be yourself when you think about doing any ceremony.
