Animal Craze... or crazy about animals!

Animals are having a growing impact on weddings in 2009. Brides are choosing to incorporate animal prints, furs and feathers, and even their beloved pets into the big day. Here are a few innovative ideas to help the modern bride encompass this recent trend:
Consider using feathers in your bouquet, centerpieces, or even wardrobe. For example, Carrie Bradshaw sported a feathery hair barrette at her wedding in the Sex and the City movie. For a more sophisticated look, try using peacock feathers in your centerpieces. They are elegant and funky at the same time and should be easy to match to most color schemes.

Many brides are opting to use animal prints as accent fabrics for the reception. There is a vast array of prints to choose from that can match your style and color scheme.

Wraps and shawls are often worn by brides during the wall and winter season- you may choose to have a fur or faux fur addition to your wardrobe.

Some choose to use live fish in their centerpieces or surrounding décor. You can choose colorful fish such as beta to integrate your wedding colors. Also, Goldfish will add a pop of color and movement to your reception for a thrifty price. Plus, they can be used as a wedding favor!

Live animals can be included in your ceremony to add an element of excitement! The release of doves or butterflies is a popular choice. Lately, several of our clients have included pets in the ceremony- you can have a flowerdog or flowercat, and a bride may even prefer to ride her horse down the aisle! The inclusion of pets adds a personal, sentimental touch to your wedding, and is sure to have all of your guests talking!

Recently, one of our clients made donations to the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals in lieu of favors. This is a great way to acknowledge your love for animals without embracing them in your actual ceremony.
