Have you have hit the budget for your wedding? Instead of trying to save even more or beg mom and dad, try bartering! The old act of goods or services directly exchanged for other goods and/or services, without the use of money is back! Wedding experts now say the stigma is gone and bartering is in. According to “Modern Bride Magazine”, there are 6 things to remember when bartering.
1. Make sure your trade is fair. Put a dollar amount to it!
2. Get referrals. Are they professional and reliable?
3. Meet in person. Make sure you can trust them.
4. Sign a contract. This is a must!
5. Pay your taxes. Report the fair market value.
6. Avoid peak wedding periods. It will weaken your ability to barter.
